A while back I posted a photo on Instagram with the caption:
“‘ A wise man once said
Find 3 hobbies. One to make you money, one to keep you in shape and one to keep you creative.
Photography is the one that encapsulates all of ’em. 🙂 “”

A wise man once said, Find 3 hobbies. One to make you money, one to keep you in shape and one to keep you creative. While the caption I added to the image was “for sake of photo”, I wondered today about the same quote.
Find 3 hobbies.
And I wondered, which are the real hobbies I really have and thought of writing a run down analysis of them.
One to make you money
Currently, I have a couple of income sources.
I work at my university recreation department as a part time photographer, that pays me enough to clear all monthly expenses.
Second source of income is this blog. I had stopped advertising via Google AdSense as it was killing off user experience with too many ads. On the other hand, I have strong interest of marketers for guest posts/sponsored posts. That brings me home dollars in 3 digits.
So two hobbies for this section:
My main source of income was/will be Software Engineering although.
One to keep you in shape
Just like previous section, this section also has misty air in the arena.
There days my belly has been ballooning and I have become extremely fat – so I am not sure whether this will apply or not.
I traveled to Hanging Rock State Park last week for hiking and camping. The trip had me walk for like 5 miles a day. Does it ring the bell for keeping me in shape? I think so.
One to keep you creative
I doubt the world of camera would beat any of my other hobbies for the creativity section.
After taking photography seriously since last 4 years or so, my standard for photography has jumped shelves. Now even for a single photograph, I spent hours capturing right frame and then doing the right kind of editing.
Even while on the job as photographer with my university, I try to find different angles, different compositions, different techniques to get the creativity ball rolling.
Props to the wise man who put this advice of 3 Hobbies forward.
Once in a while, I believe it’s a good idea to take a break from regularity of life and think about other aspects of life such as hobbies. Glad that I have at least one hobby to write in each section of money, being in shape and creativity.
