List of Tourism Spots in Dang District : My Journey Of Dang Forests

on
February 7, 2016

Dang district of Gujarat is full of green forests and amid the forests, Dang has number of tourism places. Most of the tourism spots are, however, unknown to majority of tourists.

I started exploration of Dang in August 2014. The first spot I chose was Don Hill Station. In fact, I started this blog from writing article on Don. The post has received ultra response and then it all started.

By December 2015, I’ve been to almost every place in Dang forests. And I still wouldn’t miss any opportunity. 🙂

This article is a collection of all the places that I’ve visited in Dangs till now.

      Hello Mr Sanjay,

Thanks a lot for reaching out.

Unfortunately for you, I haven’t been in touch with Dangs area lately. I lived in Hyderabad since 2016 and then moved to USA now.

Here’s what I can suggest you: The Bhagats are very popular in the Dangs area. You can directly go to Subir and ask around people there. They will certainly able to guide you.

To give you an rough idea: https://maps.google.com/?q=20.905672,73.818672

This is where the village is probably located. I am not 100% sure though.

So, just go to Subir, talk with people around there and they will definitely be able to guide you in the right direction.

      Happy to help.

You’re most likely to find decent stay in Saputara. Please check out Lord’s group hotels in Saputara.

There’s no luxurious resort in my knowledge, you may check out Club Mahindra Resort at Hatgad, it’s near Saputara.

A visitor from Surat asked me few queries over email. Posting them here as it may help others:

We are a group of 5-7 people planning to go for 1 day trip tomorrow I.e. On 14th January, 2017 for 1 day trip to chimer and Girmal waterfall. Can you please suggest us a rough itinerary or is it worth going there?

Also are there any facilities for lunch available there? And other than by car are there any public transport facility available from surat?

      Posting answer as a reply:

      1. This is not the best time to visit, however your trip won’t be boring. You can go.

      2. Assuming that you’ll be starting from Surat, here’s what I suggest:
      Surat
      Bardoli
Songadh (You can visit Fort Songadh)
Chimer (You’ll need to walk for about half an hour to read to waterfall)
      Girmal
      Subir
      Ahwa
      Waghai
Waghai Botanical Garden or Janki Van (Both will close at 6 PM)
      Vansda
      Chikhli
      Surat

      3. If you follow my itinerary,

You can have breakfast at Songadh
Lunch at Subir (Won’t be so good though)
      Dinner at Vansda

If you want to try out local Dangi food, go to restaurant Nahri. It’s near Vansda, located in Gangpur Village on Vansda Dharampur Road.

      4. Private transportation is all you got. There’s no public transportation facility.

      Thanks bro!

How: Public transportation is rare to find. So I recommend private vehicle.

Where: Well, summer is the least preferred time to visit Dangs. I suggest you to defer your plans and wait till monsoon. If you want to still visit, then Saputara, Botanical Garden, Shabari Dham and Mahal would be good options.

Safety: Yes, it is absolutely safe.
